Join Dr. John E. Muñoz at the Waterloo Public Library for an engaging look at how technology and physical activity can work together to support healthy aging. Drawing on research from Wilfrid Laurier University's BioAdaptive Interface Lab, this presentation will explore how immersive technologies such as virtual reality can be used to encourage movement, stimulate the mind, and promote cognitive wellbeing.
Participants will learn about exergaming - games that combine exercise with interactive technology - and how this emerging field is being studied as a way to support brain health and help slow cognitive decline associated with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease.
Whether you're interested in healthy aging, virtual reality, or the future of healthcare technology, this program offers an accessible introduction to this fascinating area of research.
