Hawk Talk and Trivia Night: How to Fix the Democratic Crisis
Many people feel that democracy is in crisis. But what does that mean, and what do we do about it? Are we doomed, or is there hope?
Members of campus and the community are invited to join Professor James Cairns for "How to Fix the Democratic Crisis," the latest in the Hawk Talk and Trivia lecture series at Laurier's Brantford campus.
Cairns, chair of Laurier's Department of Indigenous Studies, Law and Social Justice, has written several books on politics and culture, including, most recently, In Crisis, On Crisis: Essays in Troubled Times (Wolsak & Wynn, 2025).
The lecture will be followed by a pop culture trivia challenge, with prizes up for grabs. Individuals and teams are welcome.
Space is limited, so advance registration is encouraged (a link will be provided here soon). The event includes complimentary snacks and a cash bar.
